Spring is Here
Pot holes would be a lot cooler if they were actually filled with pot. As it stands now, I don't like them and neither does my car.

Something that Made Me Smile
On the way home from my Sunday afternoon cinematic experience, I stopped at a stop light. Across the way, walking to a parking lot was a family: a dad, mother, two younger sons and a teenage daughter.
On the way, one of the boys made up a snowball and drilled his mother in the back of the head. I thought she was going to turn around and scold the boy. Instead she turned around to face him and just laughed. Then it happened... WHAM! She gets nailed by another snowball in the back of the head by her other son. She turns and more snow starts heading her way. Remember, this is all happening around 4pm in the middle of Uptown.
Suddenly the father, who was unlocking the car, realizes what's going on. He heads to the snow bank, packs his own white ball of ammunition and lets loose on the sons who retreat across the parking lot. The daughter then decides to participate and also starts hurling snow balls at her brothers. Mom realizes that she's not helpless and also starts throwing snow. A full fledged snowball fight is now taking place in the middle of a parking lot by an entire family; running and yelling and laughing. White balls of frozen flakes are flying everywhere and it was pretty fun to watch.
Then the light turned green.

Pet Peeve of the Day Vol. XIII
People who won't watch subtitled films because they "have to read." This is a big one for me and it drives me crazy that these people are missing out on some of the best cinema has to offer because they're too lazy or not intelligent enough to sit down and watch a movie with subtitles. Sure, there are nights when I don't feel like reading; that happens. But to outright say you'll never watch a movie with subs? Lame.
PS - I still hate caller ring-back tones as well. More and more everyday actually.

Tag Teams and High Fives
This image made me laugh on so many levels. After Obama and Edwards spanked Hilary for 45 minutes in New Hampshire, this is the image we get. Thanks for the hearty good times AP.

Top 3 Things About "We Are the World"
3) The first five seconds of the song when you realize... "Hey! We Are the World is on!"
2) Cyndi Lauper's "yeah yeah yeah yeaaaah"
1) Stevie Wonder's key changes and sweet rhythms; unlike anyone else's musical improv in the song.
Happy Worms
The inventor of a worm-driven composting toilet in New Zealand had to prove the worms were not traumatised or stressed by their task before council bureaucrats would approve the system.
Coll Bell, who invented the "wormorator" as an alternative to septic tanks, was told by an Auckland Regional Council staff member to get an expert's report on the psychological impact on the worms after she became concerned during a site visit.

"She felt that the worms were being unfairly treated, being expected to deal with human faeces, and that it could affect them in a psychological way," says Bell. "I said, `Well, what do I do about that?' and she said `you have to have someone with the necessary qualifications to say the worms are happy'."
The ARC was satisfied after vermiculture consultant Patricia Naidu reported the worms were in excellent health and breeding happily.

Activists are Lame
It's a scene that brings laughter and cheers from visitors to a Japanese aquarium - two white beluga whales wearing Santa hats.
The beluga whales have been fitted out with the cute Santa hats to entertain the crowds at the Hakkeijima Sea Paradise on Yokohama Island.
But environmentalists are saddened by the sight of what they say is the final humiliation for the whale and Greenpeace has labelled the performance as "unfortunate."
